Skin Care Line Assists Cancer Patients

Everyone knows of some of the most devastating side effects of undergoing chemotherapy and radiation - there's the hair loss and utter exhaustion. However, little is made of the excessive dry skin that chemo and radiation patients experience - until now.

Iowa Health Home Care's Clive store recently identified an opportunity to expand the care it provides to those fighting cancer by becoming the only provider in central Iowa of Lindi Skin products.

The founder of this skin care line saw a niche that wasn't being filled after watching friends who were subjected to chemo and radiation. She then partnered with dermatologists, oncologists, nurses and patients to launch a complete skin care line designed to soothe, hydrate and protect the most severe cases of dry skin.

The line includes products intended for the face, body, hands, feet, cuticles and lips. Whether someone is experiencing irritation, redness, dryness or sensitivity, there is sure to be a solution available.

The Fight Back Pack includes seven samples of Lindi's best selling products

Products include:

  • Face & body wash
  • Eye hydrator
  • Face moisturizer
  • Body lotion
  • Lip balm
  • Face tint
  • Sunscreen
  • Bath soak

As a perfect accompaniment to the Lindi Skin line, the store is also offering products from Renewing You, which was developed by a breast cancer survivor who, after undergoing radiation, was looking for a way to help other women through the process. She developed a treatment bag containing a collection of skin care products that helps soothe the common side effects associated with radiation treatment: pure aloe gel, pure cornstarch, pure glycerin soap and a baby soft wash cloth, all elegantly packaged. This product line aims to provide women, who are undergoing treatment, the option to care for themselves with dignity and grace through the use of uplifting and useful products.

"We decided to start carrying the skin care products, because they nicely compliment what the women's boutique is trying to achieve - an environment that is soothing, private and comfortable," explained Eryn Wolf, Clive store supervisor. "Cancer shouldn't take over every aspect of the patient's life - they still deserve to have the same feminine choices they had before getting cancer." She went on to clarify that they felt comfortable offering these products in particular because they were developed by those who have been closely touched by cancer and because the products are physician approved.
